Tilvera, the Icelandic Infertility Association was founded in 1990 by a group of people who all had gone to the UK for fertility treatment. At the time there were no fertility treatments available in Iceland.
Our primary responsibility is to inform, educate and support people that are dealing with infertility, both in regards to the government and the infertility clinic.
Since 1999 the association has been very active and has grown from strength to strength. One of the main things we've been working on in the past 5 years is increasing awareness of infertility. To do so we've worked with the media - TV, newspapers and magazines - as well as promoting the website and forums we host.
